“I can’t believe it’s not Chicken” and Waffles {vegan}

Who doesn’t love Chicken and Waffles?! Even if you’re not from or currently living in the South, I’m  sure you’ve had them. A classic. I usually don’t miss anything from my pre-vegan days or crave meat, but there’s just something about chicken and waffles! Truth be told, I’ve never even had a true dish of real chicken and waffles, but I imagine I’d like my version better anyways. In this recipe I used cauliflower (seriously, what CAN’T cauliflower do), gluten-free chips, and Sriracha to spice things up.

A spicy meatless alternative to your traditional Chicken-and-Waffles

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 bag favorite tortilla chips (I used jalapeño Beanitos) crushed
  • 1 head cauliflower


  • Wash cauliflower and dry; cut into small but natural pieces 

Coat cauliflower in flour

    Dip cauliflower in flax egg, coating evenly

      Cover cauliflower in crushed tortilla chips

        repeat this process until all cauliflower is coated

          Place the cauliflower in the airfyer at 360F for about 6-10 minutes

            Meanwhile, whip up your favorite waffle recipe (I just used a mix)


              • Place cauliflower and waffles onto a plate, add avocado and green onion, drizzle with maple syrup mixed with sriracha
